Hello, I am Olivia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Lausanne, Switzerland.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in our long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much more substantial.
The early months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more intricate than necessary.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began constructing something that felt secure.
Why I Built ZanMortenSer
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guides or shallow travel content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical guidance grounded in real life in Switzerland.
